The National Federation Party has re-elected its office bearers without opposition during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held today at the Nadroga Sangam School in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka. Parmod Chand returns as President, with Vice Presidents including Devendra Naidu, Kamala Lajendra, Ratu Esava Nabuta, Peter Saunivalu, Waisale Kanavu, and Vijay Rajnesh Prasad. Chandu Lodhia will continue serving as Treasurer, while Kamal Iyer and Bimal Prasad remain as General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary, respectively.

In an address to a large audience, Chand expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support, emphasizing that the party’s resilience over 61 years highlights its commitment to principles and national interests.

“The fact that the NFP is 61 years old speaks volumes about the party’s values. We have never abandoned our principles for political expediency. Our achievements are monumental and will continue for decades,” he stated.

Chand also noted the historical significance of the meeting location, as it marked the party’s return to Sigatoka after 25 years, recalling the last gathering was at Cuvu College hall in 1999, following a major political setback. “Yet, the NFP rose from the ashes, as it always has,” he remarked.

The Annual General Meeting and Convention concluded yesterday.
