The National Federation Party has re-elected its office bearers unanimously during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held today at the Nadroga Sangam School in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka. Parmod Chand has been reappointed as President, with Devendra Naidu, Kamala Lajendra, Ratu Esava Nabuta, Peter Saunivalu, Waisale Kanavu, and Vijay Rajnesh Prasad serving as Vice Presidents. Chandu Lodhia will remain in the role of Treasurer, while Kamal Iyer continues as General Secretary and Bimal Prasad as Assistant General Secretary.

During his address to a large audience, Chand expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support, highlighting that the party’s longevity over the past 61 years reflects its dedication to core principles and the national interest. He stated, “The fact that the NFP is 61 years old speaks volumes about the party’s values. We have never abandoned our principles for political expediency. Our achievements are monumental and will continue for decades.”

Chand also emphasized the historical importance of the meeting location, noting it has been 25 years since the party convened in Sigatoka. “We are meeting here in Sigatoka after 25 years. The last time we met here was at the nearby Cuvu College hall in 1999, right after a major political defeat. Yet, the NFP rose from the ashes, as it always has,” he remarked.

The Annual General Meeting and Convention concluded yesterday.
