National Federation Party (NFP) leader Professor Biman Prasad anticipates that the party will emerge as a significant force in the upcoming election.
During an appearance on The Lens @177, Prof Prasad emphasized that it would be up to the people to determine which leaders should be elected to Parliament.
“As far as I’m concerned, as far as government is concerned, and as far as NFP is concerned, we have never over the years strayed from our principles,” he stated.
“We have maintained our fundamental principles of freedom and looking after the interests of the people. We will continue to do that, whether we are in government or not. People are aware of our record.”
He noted that although the NFP might not have received widespread support in certain historical periods, it remains a party that has endured for more than 60 years.
“And it must have something to sustain itself for that long, still growing and getting stronger. So, I expect the NFP to be a major force in the next election.”
