The National Fire Authority (NFA) has announced a 20 percent increase in wages and salaries for its operational staff. This increase is notable as it is the first pay rise since 2017, when the last adjustment was made.
Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa, emphasized the significance of this wage increase as a recognition of the essential work performed by NFA employees. He stated that the initiative aims to reward the dedication and support of the staff towards the authority’s operational objectives.
Mr. Nalumisa noted that the government is focused on empowering staff through technical training and development for firefighters. He added that the NFA is pursuing strategic alliances to enhance service delivery, promote knowledge sharing, and achieve technical excellence.
