New Zealand companies participating in the 2024 Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s HOTEC Trade Show later this week have been chosen for their dedication to delivering high-quality products and services in collaboration with Fijian providers.
The four New Zealand companies—Green Meadows Beef, Pals, Mercer Mushrooms, NZ Avocado Collective, and Magic Memories—will present their products at the New Zealand “Made with Care” pavilion.
During a reception in Suva on Tuesday, ahead of the expo in Denarau, David Dewar, New Zealand Trade Commissioner to the Pacific, emphasized the importance of partnerships with the Fijian industry for the tourism sector’s progress.
“Fiji’s tourism sector is truly world-class,” stated Mr. Dewar. He remarked on the remarkable recovery of Fiji’s tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic, which has reestablished Fiji as a preferred destination for travelers from Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
“We understand that tourists are drawn to Fiji for its people,” he added, commending everyone in Fiji who contributes to providing tourists with the iconic ‘Bula’ welcome and ‘loloma’ throughout their visits.
Mr. Dewar noted that premium travelers now seek high-quality products that complement their overall experience. “We aim to bring the best of New Zealand to work alongside Fiji in achieving this,” he said. He also highlighted that reliability of supply is a crucial concern for the hotel industry as it continues to expand.
“Our ‘Made With Care’ campaign is founded on three core principles: ‘Kaitiakitanga’—the responsibility of caring for people, place, and planet; ‘Manaakitanga’—the commitment to kindness, generosity, support, and respect; and ‘Ingenuity’—the pursuit of innovative and courageous solutions.”
“We take pride in showcasing four exceptional New Zealand companies at HOTEC this week that reflect these values,” he concluded.
New Zealand has been a strong supporter of this event, with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise acting as the gold sponsor for the two-day expo.
