New Zealand and Peace Corps Join Forces to Empower Women and Children

The Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Protection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) of New Zealand, and the Peace Corps.

The agreements include a Grant Funding Agreement with MFAT, which will provide a maximum funding of NZD 100,000 (including taxes) aimed at developing a strategic plan for the period from 2025 to 2030. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding with the Peace Corps will facilitate support for projects and activities tied to the Community Economic Empowerment Project.

Both agreements will take effect upon signing.

These partnerships represent a significant step forward in enhancing support and resources for the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Protection, which may greatly assist in empowering communities and fostering development in the respective areas of focus.
