New Strategy Launched to Transform HIV and Drug Use Response

The HIV Board, established under the HIV/AIDS Act of 2011, will oversee the implementation of the new National Strategy. This strategy aims to enhance public health, treatment, care, human rights, and social justice concerning HIV and drug use.

Key objectives of the strategy include aligning national legislation with international standards, improving access to HIV testing and treatment, extending harm reduction programs, fostering education and awareness, enhancing data collection and analysis, and advocating for policy reforms.

The overarching goal is to develop a coordinated response addressing the interconnected challenges of HIV and drug use, with an emphasis on prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and social justice.
