New Strategy Aims to Transform HIV and Drug Use Response

The HIV Board, established under the HIV/AIDS Act of 2011, will oversee the implementation of the National Strategy aimed at enhancing public health, treatment, care, human rights, and social justice related to HIV and drug use.

Key objectives of the strategy include aligning national legislation with international standards, improving access to HIV testing and treatment, expanding harm reduction initiatives, raising education and awareness, strengthening data collection and analysis, and advocating for necessary policy changes.

This strategy aims to create a coordinated approach to addressing the intertwined issues of HIV and drug use, focusing on prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and social justice.
