His career then progressed as he became the Solicitor General for the Fiji Government for six years followed by his role as Secretary to Cabinet from 1993 to 1996. Justice Jitoko’s diplomatic journey included ambassadorships to Israel, Brussels, and Denmark. From 2002 to 2009, he served as a High Court Judge in Fiji and later took on the role of Chief Justice in Nauru, where he worked until 2017.
Rabuka expressed strong confidence that Justice Jitoko’s vast experience will allow him to perform extraordinarily well in his new role as Speaker of Parliament, indicating a bright future for Fiji under his leadership.
