South Sea Towage Limited has officially welcomed three graduates from Nadave Technical School as ‘intern employees’. The new interns, Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna, are part of an initiative led by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.

Aporosa Silatolu, the Director for CATD at Nadave, emphasized the significance of the event in providing valuable job opportunities for not only the three interns but also for the broader youth demographic in Fiji. “The center aims to create pathways for meaningful employment for young people across Fiji, and we are thrilled to have signed on these three interns as the first of many,” noted Silatolu.

Saimoni Raikuna, who graduated from Nadave Technical School a year ago, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to join South Sea Towage. “I am very grateful for this chance, as I never envisioned it would happen. This is just the beginning of my career,” he stated.

Raikuna also encouraged other young individuals in Fiji to leverage their skills to help themselves, advising them, “For my brothers and sisters listening, do not view your educational qualifications as a limitation in achieving your aspirations.”

The Nadave Technical School is part of several initiatives aimed at tackling youth unemployment in Fiji and providing job opportunities to young people.
