South Sea Towage Limited announced the signing of three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as intern employees. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna are part of a new initiative launched by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.
Aporosa Silatolu, the Director for CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of this event in creating meaningful employment for youth across Fiji. “The center aims to provide a platform for meaningful employment for many youths in Fiji, and we are very happy to have been able to sign on three of our interns today. They are the first of many,” he stated.
Saimoni Raikuna, a 21-year-old graduate from the Nadave Technical School, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this ever happening. This is only the start of my career,” he said. Raikuna also encouraged other young people in Fiji to leverage their skills to support themselves, urging them not to view their educational background as a hindrance to achieving their dreams.
The Nadave Technical School is part of the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs’ efforts to provide job opportunities for young people in Fiji and address rising unemployment rates.
