“New National Strategy Aims to Transform HIV Response and Drug Use Policies”

The HIV Board, established under the HIV/AIDS Act of 2011, will oversee the implementation of the new National Strategy. This strategy aims to enhance public health, treatment, care, human rights, and social justice concerning HIV and substance use.

Key objectives include aligning national legislation with international standards, improving access to HIV testing and treatment, expanding harm reduction initiatives, promoting education and awareness, enhancing data collection and analysis, and advocating for policy reforms.

The ultimate goal is to establish a coordinated approach to address the interconnected challenges of HIV and drug use, emphasizing prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and social justice.
