The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is planning to construct a church capable of accommodating a congregation of 40,000 people. This announcement was made by ANCF General Superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev. Ratabacaca indicated that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for this ambitious project. “We have a 25-acre site designated for the church facility, which will have the capacity for 40,000 attendees,” he stated.
He emphasized that the new facility would be open to all Christian denominations for various events. “We are motivated to build this facility for the entire body of Christ, and we are thankful that God has entrusted us with this mission,” he remarked.
“This church facility will not only serve our community but will also be available for other Christian denominations to conduct church conferences,” he added.
Rev. Ratabacaca expressed his views on worship spaces, stating that sports facilities are not suitable venues for worship. He pointed out that the Methodist Church Conference recently held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva incurred costs close to half a million dollars for a single week.
“Sports grounds and venues like the Vodafone Arena do not represent the house of God. Many Christian annual conferences have taken place at sports facilities, and attendees often face discomfort during inclement weather,” he explained. “This new facility will provide a comfortable environment for worshipping God.”
