Lautoka businessman Khazim Mohammed yesterday inaugurated DocTrip India, a medical consultancy service connected to four major hospitals in India.
Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad, who officiated the opening ceremony in Lautoka, stated that DocTrip India would facilitate access to tertiary care treatment, which is not readily available in the country.
“We are fortunate to have the Indian government construct a 100-bed super speciality hospital in Nasinu,” said Professor Prasad. “We hope that construction will commence soon and be completed within the next two years.”
DocTrip India director Khazim Mohammed expressed excitement about providing this new service to the local community. “I lost my mother some time ago due to the lack of a clear pathway for overseas medical treatment. I don’t want anyone else to lose their loved ones because of medical issues.”
Mr. Mohammed highlighted that the consultancy is affiliated with four top Indian hospitals: BLK-MAX Hospital, Metro Hospital, Fortis Hospital, and Apollo Hospitals. He also mentioned that he has invested close to $30,000 into DocTrip India.
