The Fiji Medical Association has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new president following the recent annual general meeting held in Nadi. Dr. Vakamocea’s term will last for two years, and he will be joined by Dr. Ronald Kumar as vice-president, Dr. Miriama Tukana as secretary, and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff as treasurer.
The executive council also includes Dr. William May, Dr. Basharat Munshi, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh.
In a statement, the Fiji Medical Association reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the needs of medical professionals, improving the healthcare system, and enhancing public health outcomes across the country. The association congratulated the newly appointed leaders and expressed optimism about their role in promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji.
