Apisai Ketenilagi has been named the new Chief Executive of the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), taking office on January 2, 2025, for a three-year term. This decision was made by the FRA Board in accordance with the FRA Act of 2012.
To ensure the selection of the most qualified candidate, the Board involved KPMG in the recruitment process, adhering to their internal procurement policies. Ketenilagi emerged as the top choice following an interview conducted by a three-member panel comprising FRA Board members.
Ketenilagi brings with him over three decades of experience in road infrastructure engineering, having made impactful contributions across various sectors, including highways, rural roads, and bridges. His educational background is impressive, boasting a Master of Science in Highway Management and Engineering, an International Master in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Engineering, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Additionally, he is a recognized member of several professional engineering organizations in Australia, the UK, the USA, Asia, and Australasia.
FRA Board Chairman Atunaisa Nayago expressed confidence in Ketenilagi’s capabilities, highlighting his extensive expertise as the perfect fit for steering the FRA towards its future endeavors. Nayago stated, “Apisai Ketenilagi’s distinguished career in infrastructure development makes him an ideal leader for our organization.”
The Board congratulated Ketenilagi on his appointment and looks forward to collaborating with him to achieve significant progress in Fiji’s infrastructure efforts.
