A new healthcare facility is set to open in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, as announced by the Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka. This development comes after funding from the New Zealand government, which has allocated $472,895 to enhance the services at the hospital.
Approximately 8,000 residents from the Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa areas, alongside surrounding communities in Vualiku and Tailevu, will benefit from the services offered at this new facility. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of safeguarding health and ensuring quality service delivery within the community.
The hospital is also expected to improve the healthcare services available to students from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, as well as other nearby educational institutions.
Charlotte Darlow from the New Zealand government noted their commitment to supporting Fiji’s healthcare services and continuing collaboration to enhance medical support for local communities.
