The Vukelulu, an initiative launched this week, has officially opened a new health facility in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu. The Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka, inaugurated the facility, which has been funded with generous support from the government of New Zealand, amounting to $472,895, aimed at improving health services and facilities.
The new health center is expected to serve approximately 8,000 residents from the surrounding areas of Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa, providing much-needed healthcare services. Prime Minister Rabuka emphasized the importance of safeguarding the health and well-being of the population while ensuring access to quality healthcare through the new facility.
Additionally, the health center is set to enhance services for students from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, benefiting the educational institutions located nearby. The collaboration between the health sector and the New Zealand government is seen as a crucial step towards delivering excellent healthcare services to the community.
Charlotte Darlow from the New Zealand government reiterated their ongoing commitment to support the Fijian government in improving health services, especially in light of the challenging health crises experienced in recent years.
