This week, Vision Motors delivered a set of SHANTUI machines to the Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport. The delivered equipment includes two large excavators, two D6 bulldozers, two dumper trucks, and two flatbed trucks, with a total value exceeding $1.62 million.
Paula Baleilevuka, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Public Works, received the machinery on behalf of the ministry. He remarked that this marks the first acquisition of new machines in over a decade. Baleilevuka emphasized that these new vehicles would enhance the ministry’s capacity to maintain rural and remote areas and provide support during emergencies.
Ajay Lal, the dealer principal at Vision Motors, expressed his appreciation for the ministry’s choice to partner with them, assuring the government of the company’s commitment to meeting its needs and standing firmly behind the products.
The SHANTUI brand, established in China in 1953, serves as a significant technological partner to the globally recognized brand Caterpillar, offering machinery at a price point that is four times lower.
Baleilevuka indicated that the newly acquired machines will directly aid in ongoing and upcoming projects by the ministry. He also mentioned that the ministry anticipates adding more large machines to its fleet within the current financial year.
