New Healthcare Facility Unveiled in Fiji’s Tailevu

On the day of Vukelulu this week, the Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka, inaugurated the new hospital located in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu. This establishment comes as a result of support from the New Zealand government, which generously contributed $472,895 to enhance the medical services available to the community.

Approximately 8,000 residents from areas including Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa, particularly in the Vualiku and Tailevu districts, will benefit from the healthcare services provided at this new facility. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of safeguarding the health and well-being of citizens by providing accessible medical services.

In addition, the new hospital is expected to improve healthcare for students from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, as well as other nearby educational institutions. The Ministry of Health and the New Zealand government are committed to ongoing support to ensure quality healthcare services for the people of Fiji.

Charlotte Darlow from the New Zealand government reaffirmed the commitment to assist Fiji in enhancing medical services available to the local communities, especially considering the ongoing health challenges faced in the region.
