New Healthcare Facility Set to Transform Lives in Tailevu

The newly constructed health center in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, marking a significant development since the project began in 2017. The facility received generous support from the New Zealand government, which contributed NZD 472,895 for the enhancement of medical services and facilities.

Approximately 8,000 residents from areas including Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa in Vualiku and Tailevu will benefit from health services provided at this center. Prime Minister Rabuka emphasized the importance of safeguarding the community’s health and the necessity of high-quality medical services for those relying on the center.

Additionally, the health center is expected to improve access to healthcare for students from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, as well as other nearby educational institutions. Both the Ministry of Health and the New Zealand government expressed gratitude for the continued support towards improving health services for the Fijian community.

Charlotte Darlow from the New Zealand government reiterated their commitment to ongoing assistance to enhance healthcare services in Fiji, aimed at benefiting the local population.

This development not only promises better healthcare access for the local communities but also highlights the collaboration between Fiji and New Zealand in strengthening health infrastructure.
