The new health facility in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, was officially opened on a significant day by the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, marking an important development since its inception back in 2017. This project has received substantial support from the New Zealand government, which has contributed NZD 472,895 to enhance the hospital and its services.
The facility is expected to serve around 8,000 residents from the Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa areas, providing much-needed medical care and services. The Prime Minister emphasized the critical importance of health services in safeguarding the lives and welfare of communities.
Additionally, this health facility will ease access to services for students at Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, as well as the nearby educational institutions.
