New Health Facility Promises Better Care for Fiji Communities

On a recent day, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officially opened a new health facility in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu. This development follows an investment from the government of New Zealand, which provided $472,895 to enhance medical services and infrastructure.

Approximately 8,000 residents from areas including Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa in Tailevu will benefit from the services offered at this new facility. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring quality healthcare for the community and highlighted the role that such facilities play in safeguarding public health.

This new health center is expected to improve access to healthcare for students from nearby Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, ensuring that educational institutions have the necessary medical support.

Charlotte Darlow from the New Zealand government expressed ongoing support for Fiji’s healthcare sector and confirmed that they will continue to collaborate with the Fijian government to improve health services for local communities.
