The new community health center in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, officially opened on Vukelulu Day this week, as announced by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, following its completion which began in 2017. This health facility was made possible through the generous support of the New Zealand government, which contributed $472,895 to enhance medical services in the area.
The health center is projected to serve approximately 8,000 residents from the Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa districts in Vualiku and Tailevu, providing vital health and medical services. Prime Minister Rabuka emphasized to the local population the importance of maintaining health and safety, particularly in providing essential services through the health center.
Notably, the new facility will also benefit students from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, as well as other nearby educational institutions by improving access to healthcare.
