After two successful years of operating her online business, Asma Fareha Khan has chosen to launch a retail store to better cater to customer demand. She is the founder of Asma Fashion Closet, a new showroom situated on the main street of Nadi Town.
Originally from Punjab, India, Ms. Khan possesses a wealth of knowledge in fashion, product offerings, and quality standards. She is married to Manuawar Khan, an accomplished information technology professional based in Nadi.
“It has been our dream to enter this business,” Ms. Khan expressed. “Our modern store setup provides a cozy and comfortable shopping atmosphere. We want customers to feel as if they are browsing through a closet.”
The showroom will feature an array of unique and trendy women’s clothing, footwear, jewelry, luxury clutches, handbags, hijabs, and various accessories.
Manuawar Khan sees significant potential for retail sales of contemporary Indian ethnic and Indo-western clothing and accessories in Fiji. “The competition in the market is fierce, but our commitment will always be to offer quality and distinctive products that are not commonly found here,” he stated.
While there are currently no manufacturing facilities in Fiji, some of their items are custom-made to ensure they stand out. “We have invested nearly $60,000 into establishing and stocking our showroom, and we currently employ two staff members.”
Plans are underway to further expand the business by opening additional showrooms in the western division.
