Tavua has unveiled a new family park, made possible by a donation of $63,000 from the FIJI Water Foundation and $3,200 from the Gold Water Carnival Committee.
The park was inaugurated last week by Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa.
“Today, we also see the power of public-private partnerships. The Tavua Town Council and the FIJI Water Foundation have worked together to create this beautiful park,” Nalumisa stated.
“We encourage more such partnerships as they bring great benefits to our local communities.”
The final phase of the park’s development will include a dedicated area for senior citizens.
“Our elders hold a special place in our hearts, serving as mentors and sharing their wisdom with younger generations.
“This space will honour their contributions and provide a peaceful place for them to relax and enjoy.
“This park represents our commitment to building a thriving, sustainable, and enjoyable town for all.”
