Coach Osea Kolinisau has announced a 12-member squad for the first leg of the SVNS Series, which will take place in Dubai and Cape Town. Excitingly, the lineup features two debutants: Kavekini Tanivanuakula and George Bose, who will have the opportunity to showcase their skills against formidable opponents such as New Zealand, USA, and Spain in Pool C matches in Dubai.
The squad also includes experienced players like Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Jerry Matana, Joji Nasova, Suliano Volivolituevei, Ilikimi Torosi, Terio Tamani, Pilipo Bukayaro, Ratu Filipe Sauturaga, Vuiviwa Naduvalo, and Iowane Teba, which will surely bring strong leadership and expertise to the team.
However, notable names like Waisea Nacuqu, Joseva Talacolo, Kaminieli Rasaku, and Manueli Maisamoa will be missing from the tournament, raising curiosity about the reasons for their absence.
The Dubai Sevens tournament is scheduled for November 30 to December 1, followed by the Cape Town Sevens on December 7 and 8.
This squad mix of emerging talent and seasoned players bodes well for the team’s performance, and fans will be eager to see how the debutants fare on the international stage. As the team prepares for these high-stakes matches, there’s a sense of optimism and excitement surrounding the potential of these emerging stars to make their mark in the series.
