The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua. This news was confirmed by the club in a statement released last Friday. Koroiduadua is expected to significantly strengthen their front row as the team seeks to build on their recent achievements in Major League Rugby (MLR).

At 25 years old, Koroiduadua hails from Nalebaleba in Nadroga and has been with the Drua since their inaugural season in 2022, following a two-year stint at Clermont in the French Top 14. He was also part of the Drua in 2019.

The Free Jacks’ statement highlighted Koroiduadua as one of Fiji’s most promising emerging talents, emphasizing his ability to bring exceptional power and physicality to their front row. With over 20 games played for the Fijian Drua in three seasons of Super Rugby Pacific and two international caps for the Flying Fijians, including participation in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Koroiduadua has an impressive rugby background.

He has also represented Nadroga in the Skipper Cup competition and has experience as a former national Under-20 player. The club noted that Koroiduadua is a formidable scrummager, having played a critical role in the successful Fijian Drua scrum during last season’s Super Rugby Pacific. Weighing in at 255 pounds, he is known for his powerful athleticism, both in collisions and ball-carrying situations, making him a valuable addition to the Free Jacks’ forward pack.

Alongside Koroiduadua, the Free Jacks have also signed New Zealand lock Sam Caird for the season.
