A trade mission from New Caledonia is currently in Fiji for a series of business-to-business meetings and institutional discussions. The delegation is also attending the 2024 Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s HOTEC Trade Show, which kicks off today in Denarau.
This initiative is organized by New Caledonia Trade & Invest (NCT&I) in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of New Caledonia. The mission includes representatives from seven companies eager to learn about conducting business in Fiji through various engagements.
French Ambassador to Fiji, Julie Le Saos, welcomed the delegation, noting that some participants have prior experience in Fiji and are planning to open a subsidiary, while others are visiting for the first time. She highlighted Fiji’s status as a tourism hotspot with significant growth potential.
“This sizable delegation from New Caledonia is participating in the largest hospitality tradeshow event in Fiji,” Ms. Le Saos stated. She emphasized that the event would provide New Caledonian companies the opportunity to showcase their brands, expand their networks, and present sustainable tourism practices tailored to Fiji’s tourism sector.
Tourism is the largest contributor to Fiji’s economy, and this platform aims to create special opportunities for these businesses, enhancing the French business presence in the region.
The companies represented at the New Caledonia trade booth include Pacific Plastic Profile (3P), Epureau, CEA, Syrius Solar Industry, Solar NC, Metalco, and Vergnet Pacific. Additionally, NCT&I is representing three other companies—Azur Piscines, Sema, and the Institute of Quality—who were unable to attend HOTEC 2024.
This marks the second participation of NCT&I with a New Caledonian delegation and booth at HOTEC, following a successful debut at the previous event.
