A trade mission from New Caledonia is currently visiting Fiji for various business engagements, including business-to-business discussions, institutional meetings, and participation in the 2024 Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s HOTEC Trade Show, which kicks off today in Denarau.
The mission is organized by New Caledonia Trade & Invest (NCT&I) in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of New Caledonia, featuring representatives from seven local companies that aim to understand how to effectively conduct business in Fiji through their networking opportunities.
French Ambassador to Fiji, Julie Le Saos, welcomed the delegation, noting that some participants have prior experience in Fiji and are in the process of establishing a subsidiary, while others are visiting for the first time. She emphasized Fiji’s status as a leading tourism destination in the region, highlighting the significant potential for growth.
Ambassador Le Saos remarked on the substantial presence of New Caledonian companies at this major hospitality trade show, stating that the event offers these businesses a chance to showcase their brands, expand their networks, and present sustainable tourism practices to meet Fiji’s tourism sector demands.
With tourism being a primary contributor to Fiji’s economy, she indicated that this platform could provide valuable opportunities for New Caledonian enterprises and enhance the French business presence in the country.
Companies participating at the New Caledonia trade booth include Pacific Plastic Profile (3P), Epureau, CEA, Syrius Solar Industry, Solar NC, Metalco, and Vergnet Pacific. Additionally, NCT&I will represent three companies—Azur Piscines, Sema, and Institute of Quality—that were unable to attend HOTEC 2024.
This marks the second participation of NCT&I in the HOTEC event, following a successful inaugural edition last year.
