New Caledonia Targets Fiji’s Tourism Boom at HOTEC 2024

A trade mission from New Caledonia is currently in Fiji for a series of business-to-business meetings, institutional discussions, and to participate in the 2024 Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s HOTEC Trade Show, which kicks off today in Denarau.

The mission, organized by New Caledonia Trade & Invest (NCT&I) in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of New Caledonia, includes representatives from seven companies eager to explore the business landscape in Fiji.

French Ambassador to Fiji, Julie Le Saos, welcomed the delegation, noting that some participants have prior experience in Fiji and are looking to establish a subsidiary, while others are visiting for the first time to explore opportunities.

“Fiji is a significant tourism destination in the region with immense growth potential,” said Ms. Le Saos. She highlighted that the delegation represents a considerable number of companies attending the largest hospitality trade show in Fiji.

“This event will enable New Caledonian companies to showcase their brands, build networks, and provide effective sustainable tourism practices and solutions tailored to Fiji’s tourism sector,” she added.

Given that tourism is a principal component of Fiji’s economy, this platform presents a chance for these businesses to contribute to the local landscape and expand the presence of French companies in the region.

Companies participating at the New Caledonia trade booth include Pacific Plastic Profile (3P), Epureau, CEA, Syrius Solar Industry, Solar NC, Metalco, and Vergnet Pacific. Additionally, NCT&I will also represent three companies—Azur Piscines, Sema, and Institute of Quality—who were unable to attend HOTEC 2024.

This marks the second occasion that NCT&I has organized a New Caledonian delegation and booth at HOTEC, following a successful inaugural event.
