A trade delegation from New Caledonia has arrived in Fiji to engage in business meetings and participate in the 2024 Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s HOTEC Trade Show, which begins today in Denarau.
The mission is organized by New Caledonia Trade & Invest (NCT&I) in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of New Caledonia and includes representatives from seven companies. These representatives aim to learn about conducting business in Fiji through various scheduled meetings.
French Ambassador to Fiji, Julie Le Saos, welcomed the group and noted that some members have prior experience in Fiji, as they are in the process of establishing a subsidiary. Others are visiting for the first time. She emphasized Fiji’s reputation as a tourism hub and highlighted the potential for growth in the region.
“This is a large delegation representing multiple companies from New Caledonia participating in Fiji’s largest hospitality tradeshow event,” Ms. Le Saos stated. She mentioned that the event would allow New Caledonian businesses to showcase their brands, expand their networks, and promote sustainable tourism practices tailored to the needs of Fiji’s tourism sector.
With tourism being a major component of Fiji’s economy, she indicated that this event could provide valuable opportunities for these businesses, enhancing the French business presence in the country.
The New Caledonia trade booth features companies such as Pacific Plastic Profile (3P), Epureau, CEA, Syrius Solar Industry, Solar NC, Metalco, and Vergnet Pacific. NCT&I will also represent three additional companies—Azur Piscines, Sema, and Institute of Quality—who were unable to attend HOTEC 2024.
This marks the second occasion that NCT&I has organized a New Caledonian delegation and booth for HOTEC, following a successful initial event.
