Newly appointed Ba Head Coach Ronil Kumar is feeling optimistic and enthusiastic as he prepares for the upcoming football season. At 40, Kumar has an extensive history with the Men in Black, having played for over 15 years and taken on coaching responsibilities multiple times. He takes over the coaching role from Timoci Seru, who was unable to secure any titles during his tenure.
Kumar expressed his pride in being named head coach, stating, “As a true son of Ba, I am honored to mentor this team. I understand the responsibility and expectations that come with this role.” He is well aware of the challenges ahead, acknowledging that building a winning team requires immense effort.
Having recently completed the OFC B-License Coaching Course, Kumar is confident in his ability to lead the team, especially after their titleless season in 2024. “I’m looking forward to working with the players to build on the successes we’ve achieved over the years. My goal is to continue to bring out the best in the team and push us to new heights in 2025,” he added.
In line with this new vision, the Ba Football Association has already begun their preparations for the season with an initial training session under Kumar’s guidance. This proactive approach reflects a strong commitment to improving both team dynamics and performance, aiming to restore Ba’s competitive edge in local football.
Kumar’s appointment is a beacon of hope for the team and its supporters as they strive to return to their former glory. The combination of his rich experience and a fresh coaching strategy might just be the catalyst needed for a successful season ahead. Overall, the future looks promising for Ba under Kumar’s leadership, with the potential for renewed excellence in the league.
