Netball Fiji has announced that discussions regarding the proposed Pacific Series with Netball New Zealand will continue. President Ruby Ann Sorovaki revealed that they have requested Netball NZ to consider canceling the series and instead focus on scheduling it for a future date. The organization is actively exploring possible funding options and team preparations to ensure they are ready to meet the expectations set for the series.

Netball New Zealand initially suggested holding the series in January 2025, taking the place of the annual competition typically held with England and Australia. Sorovaki emphasized the importance of being well-prepared, aiming to deliver a successful event that meets all necessary standards.

This ongoing dialogue reflects a commitment to collaboration and excellence in the sport, signaling a thoughtful approach to organizing international competitions that can bring together teams from the Pacific region.

Overall, this situation presents an opportunity for both Netball Fiji and Netball New Zealand to strengthen their partnership and lay a solid foundation for the future of netball in the region. By focusing on preparation and funding, they aim to create a series that can foster talent and enhance the visibility of Pacific netball on the international stage.
