Team official Ilairo Belo emphasized the players’ determination and resourcefulness, highlighting that they have independently organized fundraising efforts to cover transportation and accommodation costs for the tournament. Many players have sought odd jobs, including farm work, to support their expenses. The recent flooding has complicated their training efforts, rendering their usual practice grounds virtually inaccessible and impacting infrastructure in the region. Players have been improvising with makeshift training equipment like tires to maintain their fitness levels.
