Marika Senilagakali, a 26-year-old entrepreneur, has embarked on a new journey by managing a smoothie bar named “Pacific Haven” in Nausori Town. Despite his initial uncertainty about starting a business, he has embraced the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur.
Working in collaboration with shop owner Nacanieli Rakotuinasigana, who currently resides overseas, they launched the smoothie bar adjacent to ‘The Pork Shop,’ also owned by Rakotuinasigana. Pacific Haven features a diverse menu of smoothies made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including flavors like coconut, pineapple, celery, and ginger.
Senilagakali expressed that the decision to open a smoothie business in Nausori was strategic, given the town’s location bordering three provinces: Tailevu, Naitasiri, and Rewa. He recognized the opportunity to cater to a community that craves nutritious and tasty beverages, leveraging the availability of fresh fruits and vegetables.
“Inspired by the need to diversify our offerings, we aimed to complement the Pork Shop’s high-quality meat products with healthy beverage options,” Senilagakali explained. He emphasized that the introduction of smoothies is not just about providing variety but also about responding to the increasing demand for health-conscious choices.
The central location of Nausori, he noted, allows for convenient access to local farmers and markets, essential for sourcing the freshest ingredients, thus upholding their commitment to quality and sustainability. He stressed the importance of balancing creative and business elements, highlighting strategic planning, communication, and a focus on innovation.
As Pacific Haven approaches its opening, Senilagakali reported a surge of interest from potential customers. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, influencing their operations to prioritize quality, freshness, and excellent customer service.
