Construction has commenced on a significant $30 million mall project that is set to transform the business landscape and generate numerous job opportunities in Nausori.
The Amra’s Mall project, located in Lakena just outside Nausori town, will include a variety of facilities and amenities such as retail stores, dining establishments, entertainment venues, health and wellness centers, as well as parking and public spaces.
Mahendar Singh, the managing director of Amra’s Hire Plant Ltd, stated that their continuous investment in new projects aims to reinforce their status as a leading local investor while significantly contributing to Fiji’s social and economic development.
“This initiative stimulates economic activity, creates job opportunities, and enhances the well-being and growth of local communities,” Mr. Singh noted.
Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji, highlighted the project as a strong testament to the confidence in the nation’s economy.
“Amra’s investment in Nausori underscores the trust that investors have in Fiji’s potential, and it will improve the quality of life for local residents,” Mr. Chetty remarked. “Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant and dynamic business environment for both local and international investors to foster economic growth in Fiji.”
The two-storey mall, which was launched last year, is expected to be completed by mid-2026. As outlined by Investment Fiji, the Amra’s project is strategically positioned due to its closeness to key transportation hubs, a rapidly expanding population, robust economic potential, and its capacity to contribute to community development.
