Construction has commenced on a significant $30 million shopping mall project expected to transform the business landscape and generate numerous jobs in Nausori.
The Amra’s Mall, located in Lakena on the outskirts of Nausori town, will offer a diverse array of facilities and amenities, such as retail stores, dining options, entertainment areas, health and wellness centers, as well as parking and communal spaces.
Mahendar Singh, managing director of Amra’s Hire Plant Ltd, stated that by continually investing in new initiatives and developments, the company seeks to establish itself as a prominent local investor while making a substantial contribution to Fiji’s economic and social progress.
“This endeavor stimulates economic activity and creates job opportunities while enhancing the well-being and development of local communities,” Mr. Singh commented.
Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji, highlighted that the project serves as a strong sign of confidence in the country’s economy.
“Amra’s investment in Nausori underscores the faith that investors hold in Fiji’s potential and will improve the quality of life for local residents,” Mr. Chetty remarked.
“Our aim is to foster a vibrant and dynamic business environment for both domestic and international investors, thereby creating opportunities for economic growth in Fiji.”
The two-story mall project was initiated last year, with construction expected to wrap up by mid-2026.
Investment Fiji noted that Amra’s project benefits from a strategic location near major transportation hubs, a rapidly expanding population, robust economic prospects, and the chance to aid in community development.
