Natabua High’s Rugby Team Gears Up for Semi-Final Showdown!

The Natabua High School Under-18 girls rugby team is focused on enhancing their discipline and fundamental skills ahead of next week’s Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy semi-final. This statement came from head coach Inoke Vucago following their decisive 41-0 victory over Nasinu Secondary School on Friday.

Reflecting on last year’s quarterfinal defeat, Vucago expressed that the team has returned with a strong desire to advance further this season. He emphasized the importance of taking one game at a time as the players prepared diligently for their quarterfinal match.

At halftime, with a commanding lead of 17-0, he urged his players to increase their scoring. Many team members have experience from participating in the Marama Championship with under-20 clubs in Nadi, Yasawa, and Lautoka, which has helped them adapt to the demands of 40-minute rugby.

Vucago acknowledged the need for an improved performance in the upcoming semi-final, stating, “I’m very proud of the players as they’ve trained hard and executed 80 percent of their game plan. They were hungry for the win.” He dedicated the victory to the parents, teachers, and students of Natabua High School.

Highlighting the team’s strengths, Vucago noted that their forwards have shown dominance, complemented by a strong backline, creating a balanced squad.
