Nasinu Secondary School has booked a place in the Vodafone Deans Trophy final after a determined 33-20 win against Cuvu College in the Under-18 semifinal.
The match started strong for Nasinu, who took an early lead with a converted try by Rafaele Dagaga, putting them ahead 7-0. Cuvu College fought back, with their captain Josaia Ralulu scoring an unconverted try to reduce the deficit to 7-5.
Nasinu’s Viliame Matailevu then scored two more converted tries, extending Nasinu’s lead to 21-5. Cuvu College rallied, managing to score two unconverted tries to bring the score to 21-15 by halftime.
In the second half, Cuvu continued to gain momentum, scoring a fourth unconverted try and closing the gap to 21-20. Nevertheless, Nasinu responded quickly, adding another try to extend their lead to 28-20. They capped off their victory with a final try just before the match concluded, resulting in a 33-20 win.
