Nasinu Secondary School has advanced to the final of the Vodafone Deans Trophy after a competitive 33-20 win against Cuvu College in the Under-18 semifinal.
Nasinu started strong, scoring an early converted try thanks to Rafaele Dagaga, which put them ahead 7-0. Cuvu College soon retaliated with an unconverted try from their captain, Josaia Ralulu, closing the gap to 7-5.
Nasinu’s Viliame Matailevu then scored two additional converted tries, increasing their lead to 21-5. Cuvu, undeterred, managed to score two unconverted tries before halftime, bringing the score to 21-15.
The second half saw Cuvu maintain their momentum, as they scored a fourth unconverted try, narrowing the score to 21-20. However, Nasinu swiftly responded by extending their lead to 28-20. They sealed their victory with one last try just before the final whistle, concluding the match at 33-20.
