After months of dedicated effort, students from Nasinu Muslim College (NMC) achieved first place in the Fiji Secondary Schools Biology Battle held yesterday. The event was organized by the Chemical Society of the South Pacific (CSSP) at the University of the South Pacific.
Jai Narayan College secured the second spot in the biology category, while Nadi Sangam SKM College finished third. In the chemistry competition, Labasa College took the top position, followed by Rishikul Sanatan College in second place and Savusavu Secondary School in third.
Nasinu Muslim College team captain and school head boy Mohammed Aamir Khan expressed his pride in the team’s accomplishment, emphasizing their role in bringing home the victory. He stated, “I am very proud of my team; we could not have achieved this without them as they are an integral part of this success. I hope next year they will continue this legacy and make NMC proud again.”
Khan reflected on last year’s experience, where the team did not win any trophies, and noted his determination for this year’s competition. “I was here last year when I took part in the bio battle, and after not winning, I was determined from the start that this year we were going to make it happen.”
