Nakasi Volleyball Tournament: A Winning Play for Youth Advocacy!

A significant number of young people came together at the X9 Nakasi Volleyball tournament yesterday, aiming to foster community spirit and enjoy activities during the public holiday.

The event, held in Nakasi, attracted 32 participants along with their parents, ensuring a fun-filled day for the local youth.

Semiti Tuitoga, the organizer of the tournament, highlighted the event’s focus on promoting youth advocacy. As concerns regarding drug abuse among young people continue to rise, the tournament served as a positive and engaging activity for attendees.

“This competition is about youth advocacy, as we’ve observed an increase in drug abuse among young people, leading many to engage in activities that involve law enforcement,” Tuitoga stated.

The event was made possible thanks to the support of sponsor Lynda Tabuya, who enabled the youth to come together and enjoy the occasion.

“We aim to advocate for youth unity. With this public holiday, we have organized this competition, and we appreciate Lynda Tabuya for sponsoring and making this opportunity available for our youths,” Tuitoga added.

The tournament experienced a fantastic turnout, with parents actively participating and cheering on their children.

“It was heartwarming to see everyone having fun and enjoying the event. As the first tournament in Nakasi, we are already planning for another large-scale event in the future to engage even more people,” Tuitoga remarked.

The organizer expressed gratitude toward Lynda Tabuya for her sponsorship, as well as to all the parents and teams who contributed to the tournament’s success.
