Seventeen students from Naitasiri Secondary School involved in a recent vehicle accident will be granted a compassionate pass, pending necessary medical reports and recommendations from the Sub Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) Naitasiri and the Head of School (HoS). This announcement was made by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro.
The incident took place at Navuniyasi Village at the Saumakia Junction, where it was reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident. Injured students were promptly taken to Vunidawa Hospital for medical attention. As investigations are ongoing, no further details about the cause of the accident have been disclosed.
Minister Radrodro further explained that students are encouraged to file claims with the Accident Compensation Commission Fiji (ACCF). The Head of School will assist affected students, parents, and guardians in navigating this process.
