Nadogo Chief Urges Families to Rethink Kava Wisdom for Youth Guidance

Ratu Ilisaniti Malodali, the Tui Nadogo, is urging villages in Nadogo, Macuata, to limit kava consumption to encourage parents to spend more quality time with their children. He emphasized the importance of fathers being present at home to provide proper supervision and instill discipline.

He stated, “A father figure is a must in a household. It allows children to have discipline that must be maintained. Wrongdoings will not be tolerated.” Ratu Ilisaniti believes parents should teach children appropriate behavior and religious values, as many youths today are influenced by technology and criminal activities, which could jeopardize the village’s legacy of unity, peace, and growth.

He highlighted the significance of the next decade in determining whether the youth will succeed in life and take on national responsibilities. Ratu Ilisaniti encouraged young people to pursue education and secure stable employment to avoid being swayed into illegal activities like drug peddling. In previous statements, he has cautioned against the cultivation of marijuana in the village, urging a focus on legitimate farming for income enhancement.

With police advocating for community-police partnerships, Ratu Ilisaniti emphasized the need for families to actively engage children in religious and traditional activities to foster a positive environment.
