Pacific Specialist Healthcare’s birthing facility in Nadi is proud to announce its impressive success rate among patients. The hospital encourages expectant parents to explore the positive reviews and testimonials shared by new mothers and fathers on platforms like Facebook and TikTok, which highlight their joy and satisfaction with the arrival of their babies.
Led by Dr. Tui Taoi, a prominent obstetrician and gynecologist in Fiji, the PSH Obstetrics and Gynecology facility features an all-female birthing team composed of nurses and nursing assistants, ensuring privacy for mothers during their experience. This unique approach has been well-received by many expectant mothers and their partners, according to PSH’s Director and CEO, Parvish Kumar.
Kumar noted, “These mothers thank us for doing this.” After giving birth, mothers are accommodated in private rooms equipped with a television, a lounge suite, and beverage-making facilities, designed to resemble a luxurious five-star hotel experience. Fathers are also encouraged to stay with their partners during their hospital visit.
Kumar expressed satisfaction with the decision to operate the Nadi branch of PSH Hospitals around the clock, a service that began two weeks ago. He observed an increasing number of patients seeking urgent medical care at night, including those arriving from the airport with conditions like asthma, food poisoning, fever, and sudden abdominal pains.
To facilitate healthcare access, PSH maintains an affordable consultation fee of $11.50. The hospital is actively exploring options to offer more services at no cost and is in talks with foreign companies to help achieve this goal.
The mission of PSH Hospitals is to enhance healthcare services and promote universal health coverage while addressing societal challenges related to healthcare access. Kumar stated, “There are countless patients for whom we have made all services free of charge.” The hospital aims to alleviate pressure from the public healthcare system by offering advanced and quicker treatment options, and by striving to provide care at no cost for those in need.
“PSH Hospitals is a different breed of hospital, come talk to us and you will realize that empathy is in every pulse of PSH Hospitals,” he added. Patients consulting with general practitioners are charged only $11.50, regardless of the time of day, whether during regular or emergency hours.
Kumar highlighted that PSH offers medical procedures at competitive rates and has facilities for a wide range of services accessible to patients, even those unable to pay in full upfront. The hospital also provides installment plans under specific conditions for major procedures, emphasizing the need for patients to adhere to their financial commitments.
