Nadi’s New Birthing Experience: Luxury Meets Care at PSH Hospital

Pacific Specialist Healthcare’s birthing facility in Nadi is experiencing a commendable success rate among its patients. The hospital encourages expectant parents to check out reviews and social media posts from satisfied mothers and fathers celebrating the arrival of their newborns.

Led by Dr. Tui Taoi, Fiji’s leading obstetrician and gynecologist, the PSH obstetrics and gynecology team consists exclusively of female nurses and nursing assistants, ensuring privacy and comfort for expectant mothers. This all-female staffing has received positive feedback from many mothers, as well as support from their partners, according to PSH’s Director and CEO, Parvish Kumar.

“Our mothers express their gratitude for this arrangement,” Mr. Kumar stated. After childbirth, mothers are accommodated in private rooms equipped with amenities like television and lounges, designed to offer a five-star hotel experience. Partners are also encouraged to stay with their wives during this time.

The decision to operate the Nadi branch of PSH Hospitals 24/7, implemented two weeks ago, has proven beneficial, as there has been a notable increase in patients seeking urgent care during nighttime hours. Recently, several patients arriving from the airport have required immediate medical attention for conditions like asthma, food poisoning, fever, and acute abdominal pain.

PSH’s affordable consultation fee of $11.50 helps improve access to healthcare. The facility is also exploring possibilities to provide these services free of charge, in partnership with foreign entities.

The core mission of PSH Hospitals is to enhance health services, promote universal health coverage, and address healthcare challenges within the community. Mr. Kumar highlighted their commitment to providing free services to numerous patients in need. By alleviating pressure on public healthcare systems, PSH aims to offer advanced, timely treatment options, while also striving to make their services affordable, potentially free, for vulnerable patients.

“PSH Hospitals represents a unique vision of healthcare; connecting with us will reveal the empathy embedded in every aspect of our services,” he emphasized. Consultation fees remain consistent at $11.50, regardless of the time of day, whether during normal hours or emergencies.

“With competitive rates for medical procedures, our facilities are accessible to everyone, including those who may not be able to pay upfront. We also provide installment plans under specific conditions for major procedures, provided patients adhere to financial agreements,” Mr. Kumar added.
