After two successful years of running her online business, Asma Fareha Khan has taken a significant step by opening a retail store to cater to customer demand. She has established the Asma Fashion Closet showroom on the main street of Nadi Town.
Ms. Khan, who hails from Punjab, India, has a deep understanding of fashion, product offerings, and their quality. She is married to Manuawar Khan, a prominent information technology professional based in Nadi.
“It has been our dream to venture into this business,” she expressed. “The modern design of our store provides customers with a cozy and comfortable shopping experience. We aimed to create a space that feels like a closet.”
The showroom features a selection of unique and stylish women’s fashion items, including clothing, footwear, jewelry, luxury clutches, handbags, hijabs, and accessories.
Mr. Khan remarked that Fiji presents a promising market for retail sales of contemporary Indian ethnic and Indo-western attire and accessories. “The market is quite competitive in Fiji; however, we are committed to introducing quality and distinct products that are not commonly available here,” he stated.
Currently, Fiji lacks manufacturing facilities for these goods, but some items are custom-designed to enhance their uniqueness. “We have invested nearly $60,000 in establishing and stocking our showroom, and we currently employ two staff members,” he added, mentioning future plans to expand the business by opening additional showrooms in the western division.
