Mahajibhai Hardware, a company based in Nadi, has announced its support for the local district football team as they prepare for the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This support was unveiled during a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi, where company director Sudhish Patel expressed this is the first time they have sponsored the team.
Patel stated, “I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the boys have been working hard and improving their results. I hope they’ll go on to win the tournament. Good luck to the Nadi team, and I hope they can bring the trophy back this year.”
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq commented that the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware is a significant boost for the entire Nadi football family, especially in challenging economic times when companies are hesitant to provide support.
Rafiq explained that the team will be referred to as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, as they have two major sponsors. He also expressed gratitude toward head coach Raj Dayal and the dedicated supporters in Calgary and globally. The team is focused on performing well in the upcoming tournament, having devised a solid strategy for success.
He added that the coaching staff and the board are fully supportive of the team’s preparations. Nadi will face off against the defending champions, Ba, in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
