Mahajibhai Hardware, based in Nadi, has announced its support for the Nadi district football team ahead of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This endorsement was made public during a cheque presentation of $7,500 in Martintar, Nadi, where company director Sudhish Patel expressed that this is the first time they have supported the local team.
“I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the players have been working hard and improving their results,” Patel stated. He added his hopes for the team to win the tournament, wishing them luck in bringing the trophy home this year.
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq referred to the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a blessing for the entire Nadi football family, expressing gratitude in light of the challenging economic climate that makes securing sponsorship difficult.
Rafiq announced that the team would be recognized as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to having two major sponsors. He also extended thanks to head coach Raj Dayal and the supportive members in Calgary and globally. “We are looking forward to this IDC and are doing our best to perform well in the tournament. We have a solid plan in place,” he noted.
He also mentioned the strong backing from coaches and the board of control in preparing the team. Nadi will compete against defending champions Ba in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The Nadi squad includes players Ratu Halstead, Vishant Reddy, Shaheel Valentine, Afraz Ali, Leo Lesumai, Abdullah Aiyaz, William Valentine, Ashneel Kumar, Tevita Vonovesi, Ali Naseri, Tuiba Batiratu, Ame Votoniu, Eneriko Matau, Ratu Tulivou, Nilkash Prasad, Vuniuci Tikomaimereke, Steven Underwood, Mohammed Ayman, Beniamino Lebatavatava, Siotame Kubu, and Vereti Dickson, Joela Biuvanua.
